Not long after us oldies got together. I was running A1 Wreckers in Collingwood Street in Osbourne Park (WA) and we went on our first little trip to Sues Bridge. I reckon I may have needed a hair cut (or two)... As you can see we took the land yacht complete with Cargills Roof Top Fold out camper and another boat on top. Charlie's (My Grandfather) 16 Foot Canadian Canoe. Both were pretty stable at the right speed.
The gallery below shows a few pics from that trip.
Just a few shots of us around the campfire and then the serious challenge of who makes the best damper. I reckoned I had this challenge licked, but little did I know that I was going head to head with a person who, maybe one of the best bush chooks, I mean cooks there is. My damper resembled a doorstop and was about as fluffy as a sphinx cat... Hers, on the other hand, was light, had just the right amount of crust (not like mine, crust almost all the way through) and with a dash of butter and jam was melt-in-your-mouth perfection... (See babe, I can write fiction - nah serious, it was bloody nice.)
Time to go... well we thought it was. Turns out the car wanted to stay a bit longer... The water pump pooped itself and we lost all our coolant. Wound up getting towed into Margaret River by the RAC and was lucky enough to get an onsite van whilst the car was taken to hospital. Meantime we enjoyed the Margaret River Holiday Park, where we caught up with Bushy and his Snakes Alive display. As you can see, Bridget wasn't too sure about the Carpet Python at first, then the smile starts to develop. Not sure what she was thinking about...
We took it to heaps of places in the south west and then on our trip up to Coral Bay a few years back. It rode behind the Y62 as if it was not there.
There also a few shots of the Y62 Patrol.
